how do u feel about schools opening up in the fall?

i personally think it’s the worst thing ever. you go to school, one person has it, it spreads around the school, you go home bring it to your parents, your parents bring it to work, and it’s a never ending cycle. as much as i hate online school repointing is literally the dumbest thing ever. i feel like i’m in a low risk zone but it still scares me to death, especially with the inflammatory reactions these kids and teens are having and dying from it.

I’m sorry but if you think this is a good idea you must be wanting Corona. I wouldn’t want to go to school or have kids go to school unless I knew that corona wasn’t a threat, but it’s such a big threat right now. This second wave of corona virus is going to be so bad because of everything opening, that smart doctor guy on the news said that he predicts that 70% of people in the USA will catch it.

The ones who voted ‘good idea’ are probably the ones getting tired of having their children at home so they’d rather risk their health than put up with them 
(Minus the ones who actually don’t have anyone to watch their child when they go to work. That I understand but still)

Eh , my siblings are extremely disappointed they can’t go to school physically. However , I feel like if you’re going to catch it , it’s going to happen regardless . I think they should resume “zoom” classes ( that’s what they’re doing here .) I honestly think everywhere should go on a mandatory quarantine. Because we as adults going to work being essentials are still posing a great risk to our families .

It's a tough call....
On one hand it's so important to keep everyone as safe as possible. On the other hand, living like this forever really isnt an option as there are other unintended consequences that could be suffered.
I think it comes down to the numbers. How low is the infection rate, how many cases are prevalent, and how many children end up with this issue and why.
Based on the information I've seen, the inflammatory response in children is exceedingly low and akin to Kawasakis disease in its presentation as well as aquirance. I.e, it's essentially a product of a genetic component in the child and can be triggered by not only covid but by the flu, a cold, an infection etc.
So we weigh the health consequence against the consequence of not educating or properly socializing the children. Credence has to be given to both.

Schools are going back next week here in England for 4,5,6 and 10 year olds 
However my son isn’t going back until after summer holidays in September

While I don’t necessarily support it because of the potential spread of the virus, I think it’s necessary.
I don’t know which country or state you’re in, but where I live there are SO MANY families who have been unable to help their children with online schoolwork. As well as families without internet or cellphone data to complete online assignments. Around here there are children with bad home lives and would rather be in school all year long than ever have a winter or summer break. 
Also, there are logistics to think about not having “regular” school. What about elementary students and younger middle schoolers? They can’t just stay home by themselves while parents work. Yes, some may be able to stay with relatives such as grandparents, but not all. So then they go to childcare, which at that point would almost be the same as their regular classrooms, still with multiple children in one area without proper ways to keep them distanced from each other. All the while, not being taught what they need to be because not all child care professionals are licensed teachers. Yes, they can certainly help lessons, but it’s still a problem.
And what about the students who do not have access to online assignments? Their assignments can be on paper, but the students do not get taught the actual lesson unless whoever they live with can help. Also, while on paper, who will pick them up or deliver them? Not everyone has the same abilities or luxuries to just drive by the school and pick up the packet and then return the packet. What about those students?
Or what about the special education students who NEED to be taught by special education teachers??? Will these teacher go into the students’ homes? What is going to happen to them and their education? 
Or what about the students with bad home lives? Those students that are up all night because their relatives or parents are always fighting? Or the ones that go hungry because their parents either don’t care or didn’t make enough money to make ends meet? The ones who, when home, have to take care of younger siblings and do not have time to do their schoolwork because they are helping their siblings. The ones with parents who do not care about their children’s education. What about them? 
What about the children who just are not capable of learning through online schoolwork? Or are unable to make themselves work through home distractions? 
Trust me, I understand that this virus can be spread more quickly in schools, but at least where I live, there really isn’t another option for these students that NEED schools to be open for their safety and well-being. Not every child can learn through distance learning. Not every parent can be with their young child 24/7 and make ends meet. Schools can provide laptops to students and packets to students all they want, but that is only part of the problem that some children face with distanced learning. 
And those of you who are quick to say that schools need to be shut down because of the virus, have not thought about the risks some students face if schools are shut down. No system is perfect. There is no perfect answer to this question because of all of the seen and unseen variables. There are problems with reopening schools as well as keeping them closed.
