How often do you have your baby on/ with you?

Hi, I have a 3.5 wk girl and during the day, when she naps, I've mostly been putting her in her bassinet. I've been reading though that it's best to have them with you or on you as much as possible. Now I'm thinking she should just nap on me instead?  
Just wondering what others do during the day? Do you have your LO's physically with you all day or do they have alone time too?

Mine is half and half. He'll fall asleep on me and after about 30 minutes i put him in his bassinet. I think its more up to you and how she sleeps. I say, if she sleeps good in her bassinet, let her be.

I almost never have my baby on me for naps. With all three of mine I’ve put them in their beds for naps and sleeping at night. Sometimes they’ll nap on me if we’re out on a walk or something, but that’s the exception rather than the rule. You’ve probably been reading things by people who use attachment theory. That’s fine if it’s your thing. But for me, I don’t do that because it’s so difficult to break later on. I also don’t have the world’s best back, so I try not to wear/carry unless needed or for short bursts.

I have him with me almost all day. I only ever put him in his bassinet or crib when I need to make dinner or pick up a bit. But that’s just me. My MIL says I’m making him into a chichi boy but oh well she’s not his mother, I am🙂

My son is attached to me 23 hours a day. The only time he’s not is when I’m changing him. 😆💖

I wish my child would nap in her bassinet. She only sleeps there at night - otherwise she demands to be held. 
Good news is, you can't spoil a newborn. Wearing or holding your baby won't give them "bad habits" or cause them to only sleep on you forever. Little babies (0-3mos) feel safeset when they are near you because it's what they know. 
If you can, and ONLY if you can, I'd say keep them with/on you a bit more; it doesn't have to be for every nap or even most naps. It won't hurt anything and best case scenario, they feel a more secure attachment.

I mostly let him fall asleep on me then put him in his bassinet so he’ll be used to sleeping on his own. Sometimes I do let him stay on me during the day

I hold him and talk to him throughout the day. And with nursing 6-8 times a day for 20ish minutes each time, I am obviously snuggling him while nursing. But during nap time and overnight, he sleeps in his bed or in the swing or on his baby lounge pillow. I have 2 other kids so I can’t hold him all the time and I don’t want him to get used to being held while sleeping. I do baby wear when we are out walking or at the park and he will always sleep while I baby wear

I have a 3.5 year old, a 2 year old, and 1 month old. I do a lot of things with him in the carrier, but when he will let me, I lay him down. Lord knows the only time I get anything substantial done is when the baby naps and lets me lay him down. Most days I wish I just had a third arm. 😆

My baby is attached to me as long as I'm not changing him, bathing him, taking a shower or when I'm eating in the morning. I can usually manage to get him in his swing to eat breakfast. I have him in the carrier and sometimes have to urinate with him...

I have a little girl who is nearly 4 weeks old. Now and then she will nap on me/dad for a bit (usually after feeding) but then I usually try and move her to her cot if I need a sleep or to do something. If I don't need to do anything urgently I will let her sleep longer on me or put her on her pod/nest next to me while she sleeps. So I think a mix of both is best.
She seems to sleep well on her own or with me/dad so it seems to be working. But every baby is different 😊
