How Can I Help My Depressed Husband?
Hi ladies. I am in serious need of advice. I don’t know what to do here. My husband has been acting strange lately. He does not have a history of depression or anxiety but I think he may be depressed. I know him seeing a doctor is an obvious answer but otherwise I don’t know what to do for him.
I feel like everything I say and do is wrong lately. If I don’t say much he assumes I hate him, if I talk to him about myself he tunes me out and doesn’t listen, he doesn’t talk about his day and I feel like I have to force him to talk, if I keep things lighthearted and make jokes he gets upset, if I leave him alone he thinks I don’t want to be around him, etc. I’m genuinely lost on how I’m supposed to behave around him. I feel like I’m walking on eggshells 24/7 recently trying to not upset him in some way.
Does anybody have any advice on what I can do for him to make him feel better? Or even just how I can avoid upsetting him constantly? I’m sitting here crying because I am so overwhelmed and my heart is broken for him.
