Will you ever be financially ready?

Question

My husband and I really want to start a family but we want to be financially stable and own a house before getting pregnant. unfortunately,  that doesn’t seem to be happening in the next 5 years. I am 25 and he is 35 and he has expressed how he is scared that he won’t have the patience or energy for kids if we wait too long. He owns his own business and I have a full time job but it does not seem to be enough. 
Anyone going through something similar? I feel very alone.

I don't think that you ever be ready financially for kids...you will always find things what you want to buy or spend for something else. 
I thought that we are ready, but then pandemic happened and mortgage went up and we had to buy 2 cars, since one got totaled and another one didn't pass state inspection. But we are already pregnant, so I'm just hoping that we will figure it out when time comes!

Probably not...we started trying in 2015. Both had great jobs were about to put an offer in on a house and in the span of 3 weeks the company my husband worked for was aquired and her was let go, my car was vandalised with thousands of dollars in damage, and my husband had to go to the ER. Our higher paying job gone in a recession and thousands in expenses. We were financially stable but life can change in a second. As long as you can afford the basics you are as ready as you will ever be. 5 yrs later we are still renting as housing prices skyrocketed and we had to recoup our down payment. Will finally be in a owned house by thanksgiving.

Being emotionally ready is the biggest part... you can never get this time back and nothing hurts more than wishing you had started your family sooner

I thought I was financially ready to have a baby until I got pregnant. I honestly don’t think anyone can ever be financially ready for a baby.

I found out that I was pregnant the day after we moved back into our flat (we’d spent pretty much all our savings on travelling). We were confident we’d be able to get some money behind us in the 9 months we had, and then coronavirus happened, my work was cut down and my husband wasn’t able to work at all. 
Being newly self employed and in the U.K., we’ve received practically no financial government support. 
But, even with all that, we wouldn’t change anything for the world. We’re ready for this baby, and we still have time to get ourselves back up and running.
As others have said, there will always be something. 9 months is a long time to have to get some money behind you if that’s what you’re worried about, but personally I wouldn’t want to put my personal life on hold for a job or something like that.
