37 Week Induction

amanda

I went for my normal 37 week appointment thinking I still had three weeks to prepare for baby boy. My blood pressure was 150/102 and stayed high for several readings so I was sent to labor and delivery by my doctor. After being monitored for 7 hours they decided to induce me due to hypertension. 11:30 pm on April 29 we began Pitocin, and inserted the foley ballon as I was only 1 1/2 centimeters dilated and 70% effaced. By 2:30 am the foley ballon fell out on its own and my contractions weren’t as painful, I finally slept until 6 am when they came in and broke my water. From 6 am to 8 am I was begging for an epidural and was finally given one around 8:20 am. I was able to sleep until 11:45 when I woke up and knew I had to push, next thing I knew my baby boy was here 🥰 Elias Caprice 7 pounds 9 ounces, May
