1st birthday party?

What’s everyone doing for their child’s first birthday party? In NY we can’t have gatherings of more than 10 and my daughters grandparents are older and we don’t want to get them sick. We were thinking of just her grandparents in the yard spread out and we have a bbq just a very small group but then I don’t know what to do with our extended family. I considered doing a virtual party but what would we do? Smash cake and then what? This is taking up more mental space than I have lately

I’m in ny too. We had our babes original party planned for the 6th but have since canceled it. We are just doing my husband and I with our little one. We will FaceTime our parents but we won’t be having anyone over.

I’m in Australia we are slowly opening up by the time his birthday is near we can gather 50 people but I have pushed his birthday back 3 weeks to be able to have gatherings of 100 and have a birthday at home

Hey I’m in NY too. We are just having the grandparents over. And two uncles. So we will be under 10 people. Even pre pandemic this is what we were doing.

We’re in NY to luckily My parents have a house with a decent sized yard so we are scattering chairs with small tables around and putting snack size chips in a bowl on the table and buckets with drinks at eat area so we can visit and still practice SD. Plus she has toys there so she can play. We’re just gunna order pizza and have cupcakes. 
A lot smaller then I planned but Atleast a few close family can see her

We’re having a party now. Our county was the second to open up in California and starting next week we can have gatherings as normal. We also set up an amazon wishlist for people who still don’t want to come to send her something.

Our stay at home was until May 26th but then it was lifted early. We are having just family which is about 20 people. Hoping it’s a nice day so we can be outside. Her party is June 6th.

I think we may just do something small like parents and grandparents only. I’m pregnant and not trying to risk anything before baby #2 arrives.

We are actually driving to NY for her birthday! It will be just grandparents, her two uncles, and one aunt of mine and me. I think we will probably be at 8 people and we will just cookout and spend some time together ☺️

I live in NY too & I’m just doing a smash cake with her grandparents on her actual birthday. I am hoping I can throw her an actual first birthday party in August!

His birthday is on a Thursday so that evening it’ll just be us parents and him celebrating! We’ll do a cake smash, open up presents from relatives, and put together his kitchen 🥰. Then that weekend we’re going to have a small party to celebrate at my parents house with my sister and nieces. Then the next day we’ll go over to my boyfriends parents house to have a little party over there too.
