Do you allow your infant screen time?

My baby is 2 months old and he looovess Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. But i dont want him to watch it if its damaging his development. What are u mamas doing?

Ok so apparently kids under 2 years shouldn’t watch ANY tv even having tv on in the background can delay them somehow... but like I need tv so I guess I’m a bad mom 😂

I’m not sure the babies are actually watching it at this age. It’s more like they enjoy the moving parts of it. I wouldn’t worry too much unless baby pays attention to it for a long time.
I said my oldest wouldn’t watch tv until he was a certain age and I would limit it blah blah blah. People told me just wait. They were right. Sometimes you need that time. My oldest watches tv at age 2 and is fine.

As far as her actually watching the television, she does mayyyyybe for thirty to forty-five min total throughout the day. But we do plenty of tummy time, talking and interacting with her, and other things specifically for her development so you’re not about to catch me feeling bad about it.

I voted no because I don't intentionally sit him down in front of it if I need to do something. But he has a 2 year old brother who watches TV so if they're both in the living room and baby starts watching while he's swinging or on his playmat, then 🤷🏻‍♀️ it is what it is lol

I dont allow any screen time nor the tv being on in the background. Studies show it can hurt their development. I also read it can cause speech delays. I'm waiting till my 2 mo old is 2 yrs old and then will allow around 30 min. a day.

When our tv is on she does look at it but we don’t necessarily want her watching it a lot. I think the main thing with these studies that show it’s bad for their development, are instances where the baby gets less human interaction because the parents are watching tv and paying less attention to the baby. Tv is not conducive to a baby learning because they need to be talked to by a caregiver. 
Im sure a little bit isn’t gonna be detrimental as long as you’re interacting with your baby a lot. I’m pretty sure the tv was always on in the background when I was growing up 🤷‍♀️

My tv is on all day long in the background. I have an almost 2 year old as well so Disney movies and kiddie shows are usually on but even my 2 year old doesn’t sit staring at it all day long. He just plays and goes about his day with his toys. At times he’ll sit to watch but not enough that I have any concern, he’s developing fine. Nap time then becomes mommy’s tv shows. The baby is always in the room but I never sit him right in front of the tv, although I have caught him turn his head towards it which I think is fine, most of the time we’re all on the floor playing or the baby’s in the swing watching his brother play.

I don’t actively let my baby watch it but I have it on while I’m breastfeeding. I did the same with my 3 year old and let her start watching it a little when she was maybe 1 year. She started talking very early and is advanced with her speech.

I let him watch baby sensory videos less than 10 mins a day. It’s no different than putting him in front of those moving picture toys that’s supposed to put them to sleep. As long as you are balancing reading to them and other development toys it’s not harmful. It’s harmful if you basically replace yourself as the educating parent to your baby, but 10-20 mins is not going to harm your baby in the long run. If you consider what they watch, it will aid them in the long run. My niece learned how to talk faster through watching educational videos. I mean I get it if all your kid is watching is non-educational videos for hours but if you actually combine you educating and certain educational programs as they grow, you’ll be surprised how quickly kids will learn. Just be smart about how long and what they are watching.
