Copper IUD? Did you like it?

I’m considering getting one at my post partum apt coming up. I’ve had the Mirena before my babies but I’d like a hormone free option.

I hated the Paragard. It did horrible stuff for me. And yes it does release micro amounts of copper into your body. Women have a hard time regulating copper and any imbalance in copper can cause depression among many other things. Too much copper in your body actually makes you over produce hormones so even though it is "hormone free" you end up producing more anyway. It gave me deep ugly cystic acne which was one of the worst parts to deal with. Paralyzing cramps, extreme bleeding, brain fog... I could go on with the issues I had with it but on another note everyone is different and many people do not have issues with it, I was one of the few that it affected very negatively. Do your research and if you get it just listen to your body.
