Does walking really induce labor

Question

I am looking at some research to see whether walking actually Induced labor or is it another wives tale that has no credence. 
I have been walking a lot lately, am 38 weeks, and my mucus plug has been falling out. So I am curious!

I dont know if it "made" me go into labor. I worked in retail while pregnant, so I was walking a lot. Also, the day my contractions started, I had walked all over town because my brothers dogs broke out of their fence and only one came home on their own. *Someone took him to the humane society - and he had an appt to be neutered and chipped the next week so it was bad timing- he came home the next day*. 
That night I started to have contractions and I had my son the next day. Pretty easy birth too.

Last pregnancy, I hiked every weekend (weather permitted) from the time I found out I was pregnant in July, to the day before I gave birth in March. If I wasn’t hiking, I was walking up stairs every day multiple times a day, to do laundry and clean house. I still had my daughter at almost 41 weeks. 
My labor was pretty easy though. Idk if that has anything to do with it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Walking just gave me more intense Braxton Hicks but never actually put me into labor. What finally did it was acupuncture!

Maybe lol... actually I think it makes your labor go quicker... I walked miles with my mom while my first was over due and it didn't help lol lol he was still 10 days late...

It’s not a guarantee but it can. When I was in my last week or so of pregnancy, my mom had me walk with her to the drug store. For someone that isn’t pregnant or not as far along, it was a nice and short walk but as far along as I was, it felt like it was miles away even though it was probably less than a mile. I went into labor that night/early morning. 🤷‍♀️

I don’t know but gravity is your friend. Walking and using a peanut ball can help baby descend into the birth canal. Gravity is also your friend during labour. Get out of the bed, walk, rock side to side ect..

With my first I wasn’t dilated at all tell I had a long weekend of nothing but walking around doing stuff and all of a sudden three days after being completely closed I was at a one.
