Puffy and painful areola

I have no idea where to post this

Last night I noticed my nipple hurt(it wasn’t erect), but I assumed it was because Im bleeding (breakthrough bleeding but let’s call it my period). This morning my nipple was erect and I rubbed my boobs and realized my right one hurt, the same one as last night. I looked at my boobs and realized that my areola is swollen and painful but only on half of it. I’m obviously not pregnant and I’ve never had something like this on my period. I would assume this is just because of my period but the fact that it’s only on half of my areola is weird. I also don’t see a bite on it or anything so I’m ruling out bug bites.
