Has FWB relationships ever worked? Why or why not? I’m in my first FWB and it is only weird because it seems like it is more than that and times and it throws me off lol.

I had one situation that I felt was truly friends with benefits. I definitely did not have romantic feelings for him, after 1 or 2 dates I knew that. But he was physically attractive and we did get along on a casual friends sort of level. We would sleep together like once a week, I would occasionally cook food for us, we might watch a movie or go for a drive... but we didn’t go out in public much together and definitely didn’t bring the other to parties or anything to meet our other friends. 
It didn’t last a long time, a few months at most, then I started really dating someone else so I cut it off. But we remained friends through the whole thing and are on good terms years later. Honestly it was what I needed at the time. Lol Just enough bare minimum male attention to keep me from going back to my ex, without getting tangled up in a new relationship too quickly.

I’m in the same fwb situation or a few months now. But his situation is a little different. He’s not ready/is scared to have a relationship however I do think he has feelings for me based on some stuff which has made me confused about my own. Everyone said stay away from fwb and honestly they can be messy. It was my first and honestly will be my only one.

I mean..depends on what you mean by worked. My current boyfriend was my FWB 4 years ago. I didn’t have to worry about catching feelings, I’d been in love with him for 2 years already. If it’s truly a FWB situation it shouldn’t “work out” and you shouldn’t be confused. If you are catching feelings stop now, talk to him about it and decide what you both want to do. If you don’t and he truly just wants an FWB you’ll end up broken hearted and you’ll waste your time.

Let me clarify. He calls me pet names and shows affection towards me outside of the FWB. Like for example, i ran into him at the barbershop and he gave me a hug and a passionate kiss. That’s confusing lol I definitely am not expecting any of this and is what is causing me conflicted emotions 😓
