Help?

What is the best way to tell families that I will not be announcing when I go into labor or when my son is born?

My husband is now away for 11 days for military training where he will not be allowed to have his phone. I'm due in 4 days which means he will likely miss the birth of our son.

Regardless I have decided that when I go into labor and deliver I will not announce it to family nor friends until my husband returns and meets his son first, then announce together that he was born on.....

I just don't want anyone to think I'm rude for keeping the news from them, but I feel like it's extremely disrespectful to announce and show off our son before my husband is able to hear the news and see him first. I mean people can live not knowing for 10 days or less not knowing that our son was born.. right?
