How easy it is to buy a $23,000 car without income?

I just bought a $23,000 car with no income and I put 20% down. The dealership never asked for proof of income and now I’m thinking this was an odd deal. The dealership said I should receive my paperwork within 2-3 days and it’s been a week now and I still haven’t gotten that. Also, the loan has not shown up on my credit report yet.

This is stressing me out.

I have money saved to pay for it and I have a job offer in hand. It was a Lexus dealership that is rated 4.9 out of 5 stars. I got the loan through the dealership and the check cleared.

Yes they ran a credit check and approved me.

I told them face to face that I have no current income

My interest rate is 3.99%

I got a great deal on the car that I bought. As I stated before, I have a lot of money saved so I can pay for the car. It’s so funny that so many of you think it’s going to get taken away just because the dealership did not ask for proof of income. Sounds like some of you are jealous that I bought a Lexus because paying for my car is was not why I posted this. This may not have been the best move for you but it was for me. The last car I had wasn’t safe for where I live, Jessica. It wasn’t just “on tick” and I can pay the repayments with the money I have saved. It’s sad that you assume otherwise because it means you probably wouldn’t be able to, Jessica and Ashely. I just had a question about why they didn’t ask for proof of income. I didn’t ask any of you if I should have bought my new car or if it’s going to get taken away.

I contacted the dealership and went over the paperwork and they did not mind that I do not currently have a job. I was stressing over nothing. It was just a great deal!
