Egg Retrieval Tips?

What should I expect for Day of and Day after? Any info and tips would be greatly appreciated! I’m so nervous for the pain after and results 😳 🙏🏼 TIA 💜

You can do this!
The day of, you need someone to take you home.   
I’ve heard of some people who feel fine right away.  I had 28 eggs retrieved and that was not my experience.
You’re probably going to be very uncomfortable.  Make sure you have a heating pad.  And gasx (or similar medication).  The heating pad helps ease the pain in your abdomen.  And gas can get trapped inside and it makes it super uncomfortable.  Buy Gatorade or something similar to stay hydrated.  It will help.  Make sure you have whatever pain medication your office says it’s ok to take.  It’s probably going to be Advil or Tylenol.  (I told my husband that if we gave men drugs for 2 weeks so that their balls grew to size of grapefruits, put them under general anesthesia, and used a needle to remove something from their balls, the doctors would be prescribing Percocet.  But for us it’s usually just take some Tylenol).
Just plan to rest as much as possible.  I was home for a few days, and took a lot of naps.  Do not beat yourself up for not being able to do everything right away.  You’re putting your body through hell and you are a warrior.  
It’s not easy, but it’s  100% worth it.  (Currently 33 weeks with my ivf baby).

My husband and I took care of more intensive tasks ahead of time so we could relax during my recovery (laundry, cleaning, etc). My clinic emphasized high levels of protein and salt, drinking lots of coconut water, and having garorade too during recovery. It was several days of salty, high protein meals (absolutely no complaints here haha), and drinking those fluids I mentioned. My bloating got more intense after retrieval versus before (I gained over 6 pounds in 2 days!). But following that regimen I mentioned really helped. Also I took a few doses of a stool softener which really helped with getting my system back on track. And it does seem like everyone is different, some with more intense recovery, some less intense. Great guidance from @A~ everyone is different, I woke up super happy and feeling great (retrieved 9 eggs) but then went home and ate a bunch of high sodium foods which I read online.... and man the bloat got bad! The only thing that helped alleviate any of it was Coconut Water (Gatorade was useless for me...) the most painful part in my case was the bloat~which went away in a day or so. You got this!
