7 month old hitting?!!?!

I think my sweet nugget understands the concept of hitting 🥺 Through the day he slaps but I thought he was just having fun. I tell him no and move his hands or distract him. Today he was unhappy when someone else held him and he begin to slap her in the face. 😲 I was so embarrassed. Is this a behavioral problem?

No I really dont think so. Babies swing their arms a lot in general because they dont have much control of the rest of their body. Their arms they can swing all around. My baby bangs on his high chair when he wants more food or he is done being in it. It is just a way for them to express themselves. Totally normal!

Definantly not at 7 months old. Mu baby slaps and hits all the time. They dont mean anything by it. They are learning to control their bodies

Ditto above, my girly slaps everything, it takes a while before babies can understand hitting and even longer to understand good and bad behavior. Slapping is how they explore objects and communicate at this age, they aren't hitting because they want to hirt hirt people. I've been trying to encourage gentle touching when she gets rough, but it is still early for that (we have cats tho so eventually she is going to get surprise when her grabs meet with kitty unhappiness🤷‍♀️)
