Perfectly safe. You do not have to defrost meat before cooking it. It’s actually safer not to defrost it.

You can cook anything in a crock pot. Meat comes out much better to me. I have done frozen chicken once or twice after being rinsed and seasoned but everything else has been thawed before putting it in. I have cooked just about everything in a crock pot from stew to dumplings to roast. I mostly let it cook overnight too whatever I cook.
