Did Ferber Method work for you? If yes, how long did it take your lo?

I know the pros, cons, and controversies, so please none of that 👍🏻 ... I’m just wondering what your experiences were 🤔

Yes we did it and it worked, no regrets. Our daughter was tough and it took a solid 2 weeks of being extremely consistent. If you give in even once you basically start back at square 1. Everyone else I know that has done it though had success a lot sooner. Usually within 3-5 days. I think it really depends on the baby, and of course how consistent you are with it.

Yes. Took us 3 days. Now almost years later we have a great sleeper that put self to sleep. I will do it again with this baby.

I don’t really know the actual Ferber method. When he was 14 months, and it was obvious he couldn’t self soothe, we put him to bed and he cried and we would check on him every 10 mins or so. It lasted about 45 mins the first night and then he slept through the night (until then he’d been waking 5-6 times a night). The second night it took only about 25 mins. Since then, he’s slept through the night pretty much every night from 8-8 or so. I have no regrets. He was a reflux baby which was why he was so used to us rocking him before bed (he had to held upright after his last feeding for at least a half hour.) With this baby, once we are out of the newborn stage, we are going to work on laying them down drowsy and all that to work on self soothing.

I couldn’t do the Ferber method but I don’t knock any other moms that do. We literally just slept on the floor by our daughters crib to comfort her without picking her up and it took about a week. The first nights were the worst, for the first night she woke up and stayed up from 1am to 5am so that day was HORRIBLE. But after that she woke a few times and needed to be patted for like 10 mins to go back to sleep. Then she’ll wake once a night and just grabs her pacifier and puts herself back to sleep.

Did it at 8 months, by the 3rd night she fell asleep with zero fussing or crying within five minutes. She’s been a sound sleeper ever since, that was a year ago. She falls asleep on her own, sleeps 12+hours a night thru ear infection, teething, storms, colds...I have had to soothe her one time in a year due to 4 molars cutting all in a span of 2 days. 
I do understand tho that some babies won’t respond that well, and I will try it again with any future children, but I won’t force it if baby doesn’t respond well. I will look into other methods if needed.
