Does the foley bulb hurt?

I’m being induced next week with the foley balloon and it never occurred to me that it might hurt until I read some YouTube comments saying it was the most excruciating part of their labor??? Like what the heck. I know everyone is different. I don’t think cervical checks hurt at all, like not even the tiniest bit. And my membrane sweep didn’t hurt at all either, just a bit more pressure than a regular check. So hopefully I won’t think the balloon hurts either? Please tell me your experiences and if cervical checks/sweeps hurt you or not!

My cousin had the foley bulb thing and she said that it was the worst part of Everything, she ended up having a csection 6 hours after starting pitocen (spellcheck lol) because baby was in distress. 
But my best friend wasn’t bothered by the foley bulb so I think it definitely depends on the person

I had to get induced with my second and to me it didn’t hurt at all. I can’t even recall feeling any pain when they inserted it. Everyone is different I have a very high pain intolerance so maybe it won’t hurt for you.

I had zerooooo clue going into labor with #1 on what to expect, so good for you trying to get prepared!! 
For me the balloon was the worst part, sorry! 😬 They put the balloon in at 5pm and started pitocin at the same time. And ballon came out at 9pm and it was such a relief! I also went in at 1cm, 50% so I wasn’t ready at all. 28hours of labor and I only made it to 6cm, and the balloon gets you to about 4 😒
But! Everyone is different! I use to think I had 0 pain tolerance, but now I know different! 😅 36 hours of labor and 2 csections later!

Hi. I don’t like to be that person to scare people with labor horror stories, but because you asked I’ll be honest. I felt that it was the worst part of the process. I am sure that is because when they do that you will like be on pitocin and contracting some. You aren’t dilated enough for pain meds so you feel everything.  I have a pretty high pain tolerance and it hurt. I got the epidural so this is why I think it sticks out as so painful.
Regardless, so many of us have had it and gone on to have great deliveries and healthy babies, and you will no doubt have no problem either. I hope it isn’t as bad for you. Good luck mama, God bless you and your baby.
