Do you eat the black watermelon seeds?

Aren’t they poisonous and you’re not supposed to eat them?  Just making sure.  I’m pregnant and don’t want to eat anything bad!
I’m not talking about eating just the seeds themselves.  I’m talking about eating watermelon and not spitting the seeds out..

I usually spit them out cause I dont like to eat them (never did)....but I dont worry about it if I accidentally do
