Bartholin cyst - non painful
When showering yesterday I noticed a very sizeable solid lump in the left side of my labia/vagina! Got a doctors appointment straight away because I’m 24 weeks pregnant so was worried it was something bad. I was told it’s a Bartholin cyst. From what I know about these they are supposed to be very painful?!
Mine isn’t painful at all, it has no symptoms other than the solid lump and my doctor said it’s the size of a golf ball 😱 I’ve had a look myself and on the inside their is a large white circle about the size of a 5p which isn’t sore either. My doctor said it doesn’t look like the head of cyst but just a thinned layer of membrane or something.
She’s given me antibiotics and told me to see if it bursts on it’s own or to get in contact with her if it gets painful.
My question is has anyone had a non painful bartholin cyst and been able to get it to pop on it’s own without surgery??? Or could it go away on it’s own??
I’ve had 2 pilonidal cysts (top of bum crack) previously and both were extremely painful and required surgery so I’d rather not go through that again while pregnant!
Thanks
