I need help determining the bug bite so I can see if I need to seek medical care for my son. He’s not scratching at it, but it is swelling a little. He’s been in the house all morning.

Tick.....get to a doctor ASAP....especially if you are in an area where lyme disease is prevalent

Looks kinda like an ant bite to me...i would see if there is a place you can telehealth with maybe. Watch the spread of the red, look for any red lines extending out, and monitor for fever regardless but personally  I would find a telehealth clinic to be safe. Good luck hope all is good!!
