Back pain in early pregnancy

I'm 4 dates late and I have pcos. My lower back is killing me. I can't move very well. It's too early for me to feel comfortable to take a test. I was just wondering those of you who had lower back pain in early pregnancy was it an achy or or stabbing pain?
