Root canal or extraction?? Please help

I m sorry I know it’s not pregnancy or ttc related but I really need help . My dentist suggest root canal or extraction it’s up to me but I m very very scared confused and nervous . Can I just ask for anybody’s experience and which one is more painful and is root canal more likely to be painful even after the treatment . Anything would help

I've had both and I don't recall any pain afterward. I've never needed pain meds after the numbness wore off.

I had a severely infected tooth for over a year with an abscess inside my tooth, it was the worst pain ever, one morning I woke up and the pain was excruciating I had been referred to the hospital because I’m petrified of dentists, but I rang them up got a emergency appointment with my dentist and begged her to pull it out there and then, she tried to numb it but the infection had spread to the roof of my mouth, when she pulled it out... the relief I felt was amazing! Its a weird sensation of pulling and tugging, but sometimes root canals don’t work x

I’ve had extractions before and you don’t feel a thing! They’ll give you pain medicine to help with any pain after. It’s not so bad! It is scary but nothing to worry about.
