Diagnosed with late Gestational Diabetes 35 + 6

Mamas who have this or who got diagnosed with late GD, did everything turn out ok? I’m a FTM, 35 + 6 and went today for my weekly appointment yesterday and my OB thinks I developed it overtime after I took the original test at 28 weeks.. I was officially diagnosed yesterday with late Gestational Diabetes.

I will go see a high risk OB again for the next few weeks and a diabetic counselor. Is there anything that helped y’all diet wise? I will have to figure out my schedule of sticking myself, she wants me to do it 4 times a day to check my levels. On another note did the GD get better and everything turn out ok before baby made their arrival?
