Has anyone ever had to quit their job or go on a leave of absence due to hyperemesis gravidarum? How did that work for you? My doc has pulled me from work, my hyperemesis is severe and I’m too weak to handle almost anything, let alone work for 8 hours a day. Some weeks I go days without eating almost anything at all, other weeks I’m able to eat a tiny bit and only like cereal. I throw up a lot too. I’m dehydrated everyday and when I’m able to drink some water it upsets my stomach even more and I throw that up too. I’ve been hospitalized twice, we may have to start doing an outpatient type of thing where I go get iv fluids every week. I’ve lost 20 pounds in the past 5 weeks. I’m stressed to the max, I’ve only been at my job for 3 months so I don’t qualify for paid time off of any sort, I’m afraid I’m about to lose my job and there doesn’t seem to be any help in sight. I don’t understand why they don’t have short term disability where it just lasts 9 months or less... to qualify for financial aid I would have to have the condition for at least a year. Does anybody know of ANYTHING I can do for financial assistance? Or any emotional support, help in any form. I love my baby so much but I can’t wait for this to be over. 😢
