I would just hope they plan on getting it covered. I have an ex who has an ex tattooed on his arm but it got covered about 2 weeks after we started dating

i mean i have an “E” tattooed on my ring finger for my husband, but i plan to be married forever. tattoos are a commitment and meant to be forever, some relationships are not. i personally wouldn’t date someone if they have their ex’s name tattooed, but there is such thing as tattoo removal, it’s painful and expensive though.

My ex had (I say had because idk if he’s covered it yet or not) a tattoo of his ex wife’s name on his arm. Was it a bit weird? Yes. But, I (obviously) didn’t let that stop me from dating him. Plus, they had been married for 14/15 years & have 3 kids together, so it’s not like it was some short lived relationship, and he said he wanted to eventually get a coverup anyway. 
That said, this is exactly why I personally would NEVER get a SO’s name, or even initials, tattooed on me 🤷‍♀️ lol
