Babies that are walking several steps (approx 5-10), can your babies stand up without the assistance of furniture/a person?

My LO has just started taking his first steps this past week, and actually walked across the whole room one time. However he is yet to go from sitting/kneeling to standing on his own, and only starts walking after he has pulled up on something.

Jesse can walk across the room after standing up using something. He’s been doing this for about 1-2 weeks. Today was the first day he tried to stand up by himself (failed attempts lol) but he realized it’s a possibility 😄 so we are working on it.

Aria has stood up in the middle of the room by herself a couple of times the last couple of days. My eldest started walking at 12 months but couldn't stand without using furniture until like 14months? She was pretty much running by then but if she fell she had to crawl to something to pull her self up 😂

It took my son almost a month after he started walking to be able to stand up without the assistance of something! One day he just started doing it.

Walking more than crawling now so I’ll count that as walking (?), but still only after pulling up on something, and letting go.

When my daughter first started taking steps, she had to pull on in things. Even though, she already knew how to stand up independently, she still needed some assistance if she was going to walk. It’s about three weeks now since she started taking steps. She walks more than she crawls and can just stand up and take off. 
I think it’s probably a safety thing for them. Once they feel comfortable they’ll do it!
