The ’Eli’ which is the same is pronounced differently (even if it wasn't they are still very different names)
Ell-ee-ott  (the Eli pronounced Elle)
El-iy-Jah (the Eli pronounced ee-lie)

I have an elliott, I love his name, but we have never called him Eli so I think your 2 names are just fine. If you plan on the nickname Eli for Elliott then I’d say no

I think it’s fine, and go for it! I have twin boys and we could only agree on Lincoln and Jaxson. We get asked all the time if we meant to name them after presidents... no those were just the only names we could agree on or they would have been nameless 😂 maybe think of nicknames? I sometimes call my boys the other name because let’s face it, I’m tired! We call one Bear and one Bubba. Or Linc and Jax.
