Canoeing trip
Ok so I know ya’ll probably seen my post asking about canoeing and kayaking the past week. We finally went and boy do I have a funny story to tell you.
First off let me tell you I loved it, it was my first time canoeing or doing anything like that.
We got there and had to wait a hour for the guy to come back to his shop to pay and to get settle up. This site just started its business so they didnt have a proper dock for canoe and kayaks to float away from, so we had to go off of a bank. When we got there we thought we would have to get started be ourselves but the guy loaded us in his truck which I thought was kinda weird but we went with it.
He helps me with my life jacket which is very kind of him, he settled the canoe half way in the water and my friend has to get in first because she’s heavier than me. When she got in she lost her balance because the canoe wasn’t very stable and she ended up flipping it and going into the water 😂 she got up and he said let’s try doing this over this side of the bank than.
So she went down the bank where it was muddy and she slipped and fell in mud and into the water I died laughing. Don’t worry the Ayer wasn’t deep where we were starting out at. Maybe like one foot deep. Finally we got into it and he said he was slightly worried and was going to watch us for little while to make sure we don’t tip over.
We did fine, it was a shaky start because the canoe kept shaking from side to side but we finally found our balance. We almost tipped when a bee came into our canoe I took my flip flop and was slapping everywhere. My friend was laughing so hard that the balance was thrown off but not to worry we didn’t tip. Which is miracle one sudden movement made the canoe unsteady. Our bodies would get sore from staying so still so we always warmed each other when we were going to reposition because every movement was a gamble
Anyways once our hours was up we paddled back to a bank that was close to where we started off at and I wasn’t expecting fucking quick sand under us. So I slowly got out of the canoe first into knee deep water with my FLIP FLOPS ON. The sand pretty much sunk me into the water and ate my FLIP FLOPS. I mean that sand sure had a grip on my legs I managed to get out of it but it stole both of my flip flops. I wasn’t sure why I didn’t just throw them on land before getting out but I wasn’t expecting quick sand lmaoo
So I got the canoe on land by pulling it after we got it settled I began digging up the sand in the water with the paddle looking for my flip flops. The guy came out to get the canoe and asked me what I was doing and I told him the sand ate my flip flops 😂 I bet he thought we were crazy. Finally wasn’t getting anywhere with the paddle and gave it to the guy that was picking it up. I went into the water digging at the sand but the sand kept grabbing my feet and making me slide everywhere and I ended up falling into the water 😂
The guy left back to the shop. I looked for those damn flip flops for 20 minutes before I gave up. I shamelessly walked barefooted with wet clothes to his shop to pick up my phone and glasses. I didn’t trust my friend to not flip the canoe with the start we had so I gave him my items so if we flipped it wouldn’t ruin them. I could tell he was laughing on the inside. Luckily those flip flops was only 3$ I bet whoever finds them will be confused.
I know now to throw my flip flops onto land before getting out. 😂🤦🏻♀️
