Possibly being induced?

So I’m 39w5d and my nxt checkup is this Thursday the 18th and I’ll be 40w2d and my doc told me last time that if I didn’t go into labor by then then at this upcoming appointment we will choose an induction date of csection date. And my question is for those who have been induced how do they choose the date? Do they make you wait weeks? Or can u choose a round about day u would like it to be done? Or do u have zero control over both time and date?

My dr waited until I was 40w 6d then said depending on the hospitals schedule. I was schedule for induction at 3p on 41w1d. I had almost no progress at the beginning and had to start with cervidil, depending on your progress may reflect what time and day you start as well as hospitals availability (do they have a lot of sections planned/are their beds full). My experience is most providers don’t like going too far passed 41 weeks.

I was given a general day “if not by...” so then when it came down to 40 weeks my doctor said he was on shift Tuesday or Wednesday and then it was up to our hospital to call me and schedule it when they were able to get me in. They called me on Tuesday

It’s usually a low census date you are over 40 weeks so it will likely be within days of your app, they will have you call or they will call you that day and tell u what time to come In .
