Feeling really sad I gave birth??

I have been really bummed since I came home from the hospital Wednesday. It’s like I prepared for months to deliver this baby, I was so excited, and then it happened so fast and now it’s over and I’m home like it never happened.
I have my perfect baby but it’s almost a week now, and he seems so big. It’s like this exciting moment I prepped 9 months for was over in a heart beat and now I’m home and my baby is just bigger everyday. 
It seems irrational but I’m hopelessly sad.

Awww, mama I promise you’re not alone. That feeling is SO normal. The baby blues are real! And postpartum is seriously a massive rollercoaster. I recommend following pages on Instagram pertaining to “the fourth trimester” (it’s a real thing) because whenever you feel out of control or if you feel guilty or feel weird, literally anything that’s “off,” you’ll likely find support by women who have had similar feelings to you. That got me through the first three months. I totally get it, though. I miss the excitement of pregnancy. I want to be pregnant again, but nothing will compare to the excitement of the pregnancy someone has with their first living baby. It’s okay to feel that way while you mourn the person you used to be and get to know the new you (not to mention, getting to know your little miracle too!) You’ve got this. All empty feelings will pass. And if they don’t, never hesitate to reach out to your obgyn and other mama friends for support. 💗

Sounds like Baby Blues. A normal crashing of hormones can cause some sadness, but if it continues after 2 weeks postpartum, talk to your dr about PPD ❤️

You are having a massive shift in hormones. Baby blues is pretty common. Keep an eye on and if you don’t feel like you’re improving in the next week or so, speak with your OB. They are there for you and want to help!
