When does the third trimester start?

All of my apps say something different and when I google I get a bunch of different answers also...

I was wondering the same thing. I asked my midwife if she considered the beginning of the third trimester to be 27 or 28 weeks and she responded by asking what I wanted it to be. I am very excited to start the third trimester so it made me so happy to be able to consider it to be 27 weeks. Those who divide the trimesters by weeks consider it to be 27 weeks and those who divide the trimesters by months consider it to be 28 weeks. In the end, momma’s happiness is all that really matters. ☺️

Technically at 26.66 weeks (40/3 =13.33). So you could say 27 weeks. But it depends where you're from. In America, it is 28 weeks. In the UK, I have seen it be 27 weeks.

27 weeks. If you divide 40 by 3 it’s 13.33, so each trimester is technically 13.33 weeks. So technically 26.66 weeks is the start of the third trimester, which ends up being about 26 weeks and 5 days. Most people just round it up to 27 weeks. Some people say 28 weeks, but really either one is correct. ❤️
