Does my husband’s dog know I hate it?

I don’t hurt the dog or anything but I hate it immensely, yet it constantly follows me around and wants my attention. I tell it to go away and it listens but it always comes back to me. Does it not know? I thought dogs were good about picking up vibes.

Dogs are extremely good at picking up those vibes. But at the same time, it’s in their nature to seek approval and love. All the dog wants is a little affection. You don’t have to like the dog or play with it, but it’s your husband’s dog and it’s living in the same place as you. It’s just a dog. You can’t always just shoo it away and expect it to never come back near you. The dog obviously sees you as one of its owners. Dogs crave the approval and love of its owners.

I don’t own dogs myself and am sometimes uncomfortable around them but they always, always come to me. I assume this is because they do I fact know I’m not keen and want to make friends and show me how awesome dogs really are 🤷‍♀️

It's hard to tell. My dog and I have a love hate relationship. He's even revenge peed on my slippers once. 
No matter how annoyed I get with him, he'll still follow me around then turn around an ignore me (he can hear our cars from down the street but can't hear the word "sit"). 
He might just be desperate for you to love him.
