Finger foods?

My guy still mostly does purées.  Sometimes I worry about it, but I may be overreacting.
He’ll eat muffin, cheese, bread, eggs, sometimes shredded meats but that’s basically it.  What finger foods are y’all feeding often?  And how small are you cutting most foods?  I think I over cut, but he also tries to grab fistfuls at a time.  Even if I space it out he swipes his hand across to grab 5 at once!
TIA!  Just can’t think of anything else and googling it always seems to get elaborate 20 ingredient meals or things that I don’t think he’d like.

My son always grabs handfuls at a time and just holds them in one hand and then picks one piece out with the other and eats it. And sometimes he shoves them all in his mouth at once. He’s learned now that that’s not a good idea and usually spits it back out. 
A day for us kinda looks like this: 
Breakfast - toast, yogurt, or cereal (yeah, I give my kid Cocoa Puffs 🤷🏼‍♀️) 
Lunch - pb&j, quesadillas, pizza rolls (again, mom of the year right here 😅). We cut up some fruit on the side like apples, grapes, oranges. 
Dinner - whatever we’re eating. Usually some form of chicken and rice, tonight it’s Italian chicken, rice and corn with rolls. 
Any food we need to cut up is usually cut up into like 1 inch pieces. He likes his toast in strips and his apples in slices (he’s really good at biting/chewing them and he only has 5 teeth and just got one of those this week). 
We started doing purées around 5-6 months, and introduced solid foods at about 7 months. It took until after his first birthday for him to eat anything that wasn’t soft. It just takes them time. Keep offering the foods. They take them eventually. They have to see it a handful of times, hold it a handful of times, watch you eat it a bunch, before they actually get the courage to try new things.

You can try giving mashed foods instead of purees to increase texture. Toddlers take some getting used to, while transitioning from purees to textured foods, but they get there. If your child gags or coughs, then it means that you need to make the food a bit more runny or maybe reduce the texture a bit. 
Easiest finger foods are cut up soft fruits like bananas, strawberries, watermelon, papaya, mango, sapota. All fruits should be ripe and soft. Don't offer hard finger foods just yet. 
Don't be too hard on yourself thinking you overcut the food. I myself am guilty of cutting everything to 1 cm pieces and watching my son like a hawk while we feed him. FTM  here, so i am more nervous than my son, when he is trying something new 🤭

My son eats what we eat. Examples of some meals would be:
Breakfast is usually homemade sugar-free, flour-free muffin with a bowl of unsweetened applesauce. He also loves Chex either dry or with a splash of whole milk. Sometimes he gets a green smoothie after breakfast if my 3yo asks for one.
Lunch is usually leftovers from dinner. If no leftovers he loves a peanut butter or grilled cheese sandwich with some fruit.
Afternoon snack I make my kids a big snack tray with mandarins, kiwis, Cheerios, cranberries, goldfish, string cheese, granola bar, whatever (that’s the stuff I offered this week). The baby eats whatever from there.
Dinner is whatever we’re having. Tonight we had sloppy joes and lima beans, and we had an extra avocado for whatever reason so baby got that because he loves avocado. The other night we had pork chops, mashed potatoes, and beans (my kids love beans).

My son eats what we do with the exception of salt.
For breakfast:cheerios, yogurt, and blueberries 
Lunch: Ritz crackers, red pepper hummus, cherry tomatoes, cheese, Turkey, strawberries
Dinner: Roastes sweet potatoes (kiddos favorite is with olive oil and rosemary) Turkey loin, peas, applesauce 
Snacks: goldfish and cinnamon Graham crackers
My son usually has way more veggies but I am going grocery shopping tomorrow so we just used what we had left to get us through.

We do baby led weaning, so no purées. I also breastfeed and don’t feed him anything with added sugar. Here’s a list of what I feed my son. 
Fruits: Avocado, Banana, Papaya, Nectarine (regular/yellow), Mango, Cantaloupe, Watermelon, Strawberry, Kiwi, Blueberries, Apples (cook), pear (cook), Kiwano melon, Dragonfruit, Black plum, Peach, Tomato
Vegetable: Green beans, Peas, Carrots, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Onions, Mushrooms, Sweet potatoes, Potatoes, Turnips, Pumpkin, Butternut squash, Acorn squash, Bell peppers, Celery, Chayote squash, Yellow squash, Zucchini, Eggplant 
Meat/Protein: chicken, turkey, beef (hamburger, filet, pot roast), pork, ham, venison, peanut butter, black beans
The fruits are the easiest, because most don’t need cooked. The size depends on how many teeth baby has and how well baby chews. I cut small enough he can swallow whole. Sometimes he puts several in his mouth at a time, but it hasn’t been a problem.
