Hate Thy Neighbor TW: racism

ee

So there’s a show I’m watching on Hulu called “Hate Thy Neighbor.”

I’ve only watched a show and a half so far, and I’m conflicted.

From what I’ve gathered so far it’s about a black comedian who travels to meet with hate groups who deny the government. There was a whole episode about him meeting, hanging out, and eating with neo nazis. He was of course respectful and asked questions about what they think of “people like him” and endured their hate filled answers. He even challenged them and their contradictions of views. He handled his self very well and i can imagine it took great bravery to be surrounded by idiots who shamelessly spew their hate for his skin color. He then re-tells the story in a comedic way at a stand up comedy show.

I guess what I’m hung up on is...should they even be given a platform, even if it had a comedic twist on it? Should they be given the chance to throw their racist ideologies?

What are your guys’ thoughts on this?
