School lunch box rules.
Not sure if this has been discussed but it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while.
Some schools have rules on what you can and can’t include in your child’s lunchbox. (I’m purposely leaving out nuts and nut products because this is an allergy risk, and not related to my topic)
A few schools operate a traffic light system, where they will remove red items, and allow amber in moderation. Green is heavily encouraged:

Other schools have a complete ban on items that are unhealthy, processed, high in salt or sugar, or contain chocolate.
There are some schools who take it to the extreme, for example my brother is a teacher in a primary school (ages 4-11) and he has witnessed children having their entire lunch boxes removed and being given substitute meals such as beans on toast and a piece of fruit, or a sandwich with a salad.
Parents who repeatedly “offend” could get anything from a warning to a fine, which usually covers the cost of the meals that the child has been eating as a substitute. (Depending on the school)
**Its also good to note that these rules are completely down to the school, and not government enforced**
I want to know what your thoughts on these rules are? Would you send your child to a school that had rules like these in place?
