Help please!
Hello, mamas!
I’m new here. This is my first pregnancy (but not my first mamahood...I’m a foster mama) and I’m getting worried!
At week 34 ultrasound, little boy’s heart rate showed some weird troughs and there weren’t any accelerations. So his baseline was like 150 and it’d drop to 120, then go back to the baseline. I went for further monitoring and turns out he was fine. 4 days later, we did another short monitoring and saw many troughs, but a few accelerations...my dr wasn’t thrilled with it, but didn’t send me for further testing. I had an ultrasound 2 days later and he seemed fine. I go back in 3 days for another heart rate monitoring. So Mondays are heart rate days and Thursdays will be ultrasounds until he’s born to keep an eye on things.
That being said, she mentioned if this continues that I may need to be induced. I don’t wanna be induced. I just want the full experience of my water breaking and laboring at home before going to the hospital and the whole thing. I also really don’t want pitocin. I’ve done my research and spoken to several women who had bad experiences with pitocin. I’m trying to labor as long as I can as naturally as I can. I WANT TO BE CLEAR THAT I WILL OBVIOYSLY DO WHAT IS NEEDED FOR THE SAKE OF MY BABY. I will be induced, c section, whatever, for his safety. I’ve been having occasional Braxton Hicks, especially in the middle of the night.
What are some natural ways to induce labor? I’m currently eating dates and walking and will start drinking red raspberry leaf tea to help prepare my body. I know about sex and nipple stimulation, but what other ways can I try when the time comes (if the time comes) to kick start labor?
