How did you find your lost relative?

Is there anyone here who never knew their mom/dad/both and finally reconnected with them?
My fiancé never met his dad because his mom doesn’t even know who he is or what his name is. She had a one night stand at a party and by the time she found out she was pregnant she couldn’t find him... 
I want to help him find his dad, but I’m not sure what is the best way
(23 and me, Ancestry DNA, private investigator, etc any source I haven’t listed that you think is helpful)

I was adopted as a baby. So was my brother. We are not biologically related. He found his siblings and a couple of cousins last year using Ancestry DNA. I literally just got my kit today. I'm excited to see what I may learn.

My first cousin found me on ancestry and now I’ve connected her to her birth mom and dad  and sister. It is a very happy ending!

In a situation like that, it’s going to be pretty hard especially since his mom has no idea who his father even is. The guy has no idea he has a son so he’s probably long gone. You could try one of those viral things people do. Put some info of his mom and him on a poster and take a picture of it asking for people to share it in hopes someone comes forward. 🤷‍♀️

I found my best guy friends bio dad on ancestry.com. I did a ton of searching. Then eventually found him on Facebook under a slightly different name. First I found his daughter and then I found him pretty shortly after. I reached out to his daughter first and then she contacted her father. Now my friend is in contact with his bio dad for the first time in his entire life! He’s almost 30!

I did an Ancestry DNA thing. I wanted to find out if the person on my birth certificate is really my actually dad since he always claimed he wasn’t. But he “raised” me. He’s Ecuadorian so I figured if I had it done and wasn’t Ecuadorian then he wasn’t my real dad. I’m not Ecuadorian lol. The website alerted me that a relative of mine has also done a DNA thing. So my biological first cousin on my biological dads side also had done it and his mom messaged me. I told them my story and I guess someone told who would likely be my bio father. We had a test done and he is my bio father. I don’t have any contact with them though and never met in person.
