Long period??

So usually my period lasts around 5 days, with very few, if any symptoms, because i'm on the pill. Everhthing is usually very regular. Sometimes im not super great at taking it consistently, and ill get some spotting here and there. But for this cycle, i'm on day 10 of my cycle, and its still clotty, and very heavy! Should i get it checked out? Or do you think i probably just did a really bad job at consistently taking my pills? (This is year 3 for me on the pill!)
