Tmi but I have to ask

Is it possible to lose my mucus plug at this stage of pregnancy? I'm 12 weeks. I just went to the bathroom and what came out of me (my lady parts) looked exactly like it. This is my third pregnancy so I know what it looks like. It was very thick. Does that happen? Would my body just form a new one? I know it sounds silly but I'm genuinely concerned.
