Things have been rocky with me and my SO lately, so I've been trying to distance myself from him to see if things will just work out naturally. It's been a week and he has been getting pusher and pusher about things. Having friends text me to see what's up, texting me 5 times before I have a chance to reply. How do I nicely tell him to back off about it?

Don't distance yourself he only wants to know what's going on with you and it's important that you're honest with him if you want your relationship to work

I'm currently going through something similar, except it's my SO who wants the space and I don't. He told me he wanted some more time alone to work stuff out in his head and so I've done my best to let him take that step back. If you don't tell the other person you can't expect them to know what you want, and it's not fair to push someone away with no hint as to why. Talk to him, he should respect you enough to back off for a bit even if he'd prefer not to
