Late period

Can anyone offer advice or share your experience?

I was suppose to start my period on July 4th. Today I started spotting a little and cramping. Sunday I took a pregnancy test and thought I saw a faint line (I'll post the picture below). Today I took a clear blue test that said not pregnant before I started spotting.

I never have cramps this early in my period and it's not usually late. Could clear blue give a false negative?
