Any tips???

My baby is 5 weeks and has severe acid reflux/gerd ... I’ve switched her formula 3 times now she’s currently on enfamil nutrimagen which she’s doing a lot better on than any other we’ve tried but unfortunately is hasn’t done much for her reflux ... if your baby suffers from this can you guys please give me any tips on how to console her & make her feel just a little better 😭 ... I feel like I’ve tried so many drops too and nothing seems to help !

Don’t switch her formula so often. It takes babies 2-3 weeks to get used to a new one.  It could be contributing to the issues she’s having.

It takes time for babies to get used to formula, like a few weeks. I learned this the hard way with my son. He was considered a happy spitter and we ended up going through similac, enfamil, enfamil gentleease, nutramigen, and then finally got to enfamil ar and found that the er greatly helped with his upset tummy and reduced his spit up a lot. He still spits up some at 1 year, but the AR formula was by far the best for him.

My baby is breastfed and is having terrible reflux. Just started her on Nexium so 🤞🏼 that helps. Sorry you’re going through this too. It’s awful on our poor babes!

My baby is 5 weeks and we’ve tried so many things to help her. At first our pediatrician thought she had colic, but her symptoms kept getting worse and colic just didn’t make sense. She would choke and gag on the bottle which would often make her stop breathing. Apparently that’s normal when a baby has reflux, but it scared us to death! 
We didn’t want to put her on meds, but she wasn’t making any progress. She’s now taking Omeprazole but it’s only been 3 days so we aren’t sure it’s working yet. We had her on Enfamil AR but it made her constipated. She also had a hard time getting it out of the bottle, so she would eat all day and it was affecting her sleep. We are now feeding her a mix of ready to feed Similac Pro Advanced and Similac for spit up. She needs the added rice starch or she has wet burps/vomiting. We also sit her up as much as possible while feeding and for 20-30 minutes after. I find that propping my legs up and laying her on them helps keep her at a good angle. We use Boon Nursh bottles. They are very slow flow and it helps keep the feeding paced. If her reflux is bad we find that she’ll eat faster. We think she’s trying to sooth herself, but she’ll end up choking or making her wheezing worse. 
I’m not sure if Nutramigen comes in ready to feed? If it does I’d suggest using that instead of powder. Ready to feed is a lot more expensive, and harder to find. So I completely understand if you can’t/don’t want to use it. We tried switching to powder last week and my baby didn’t do good on it.

I’m in the same boat. We just put my 5 week old on alimentum. I’m thinking of thickening it’s with rice cereal to help with the reflux. He’s on Pepcid but it doesn’t seem to help too much. The only way he will sleep soundly is on my chest on his belly

My first had gerd and an immature esophagus. His esophagus wasn’t closing like it should, so that on top of his gerd was bad. He was always throwing up and screaming. He got maybe 4 hours total of sleep in a day. The only thing that helped his pain, not the throwing up, was Prilosec. At 9 months old, just before they were wanting to do surgery to fix his esophagus, it all just fixed itself. It was SO soooo sosoososooso hard. But he is a happy 6 year old boy now without any issues. Maybe ask your doctor about an ant-acid if your baby seems like they’re hurting. The stomach acid will start to burn and eat away at things. Hang in there!
