Moving 2 months before baby comes?

We have the opportunity to move to another apartment that is in a nicer building, has nicer fixtures, is a little larger (moving from 1+den/small second bedroom to a two bedroom, but more sq ft — hoping to have babies close together so a larger room would be helpful, but not essential, in the next few years), and has an in-unit washer and dryer.

Two questions -

1) any mamas moved this close to their due date? Too stressful? Worth it for the upgrade? It’s our first child.

2) how essential do you guys think having your own washer and dryer is once you have kids? We have one in the building we live in now, but not our unit and it costs a lot to do laundry. It’s also not easy to get to and I’m concerned about doing laundry with a baby when my husband is not home.
