Therapy/Support Options? š£
I guess I have PPD. I already had major depressive disorder and had lots of risk factors for PPD, so I figured it would happen. I just didnāt know how different from MDD and awful it would feel now that I worry for my baby too and not just myself. Iām ashamed because my baby is six-and-a-half months old now, and I feel like I āshouldnāt need helpā at this point. Yeah. :P
Does anyone have any suggestions for therapy or group support during this time? I was a part of a momsā group and was going to attend my hospitalās postpartum and breastfeeding support groups, but obviously all those things got canceled. (I was also planning on some self-care activities outside the homeānope.) In the past, Iāve seen a therapist, but with COVID it just seems like Iām a nuisance to doctors if I want to schedule an appointment.
Anyway, what is your experience with meeting a new therapist in-person during this pandemic? Or are you finding most places only want to do telehealth visits? Or what are your suggestions for support groups online, etc.? I just need some guidance here. Feeling very alone.
