Implantation Spotting or Period?

Hi everyone! So I’ve been having very light spotting for about 36 hours. I’m 10-11 DPO and 4 days away from my period starting. From what I’ve read, this is exactly when implantation spotting can occur, but it’s also possible that my period is starting a little early. I’ve also been experiencing very light cramping (much less than my normal period cramping) and some mood swings.

Is there anything to differentiate between implantation spotting and early period spotting? I don’t think I would get a positive test just yet, so I’m trying to get a better idea while waiting to (hopefully) take a test!
