TTC and Blood Pressure!

Stephanie

Hi there!

My husband and I are trying to conceive our first baby. We both are in our mid 20s and overweight (we are working on that with diet and exercise). I’m 5’7 and 225 pounds to be exact with no known fertility issues (such as PCOS).

I spoke with my OBGYN two weeks ago at my annual visit and she mentioned that as long as I stay active and maintain a healthy diet, I should be good to go. However, my blood pressure at the office that day was 130/85. This is pretty normal for me when I go to a doctor or dentist office— my doctor calls it “White Coat Hypertension.”

When I’m at home, it’s typically around 115/75. I can’t help but fear that if I conceive now, I may have blood pressure issues. My worst fear is pre-eclampsia too...

Does anyone else have a similar experience?

I just want to ensure I stay healthy and have a healthy pregnancy and baby.
