Is it okay to have your kid skip pre k & kinder? My step daughter really needs to start school but her district is not allowing kids back to school which not my issue. My issue is her mom said it's okay for her to skip kinder because it's not required by law? I'm worried she will be very behind. We try to teach her here but she is very distracted & so I can't imagine her being focused for online class. I want to know if any teachers here or anyone know if this can affect her? Her mom is confident she is smart enough to skip kinder & will catch up in 1st grade.....

She doesn't know all her colors, doesn't know her ABC's or how to count, shapes, & she will soon be 6.

I feel like I'm more concerned about her education than her mom. ☹
