Clomid success story TWICE.
My story starts out in August 2017. We had just gotten married and had been trying since June 2017. After no luck after 6 months we reached out to a couple doctors, one finally decided to give me a laparoscopy to determine if I had endometriosis. (I didn’t) I was using opk’s for about a year now, and everytime it said I was ovulating. I got that surge and assumed I was good to go. My periods were normal, painful but not heavy. I never spotted throughout or missed a period.
After that surgery we kept trying until finally in April 2018, my doctor prescribed me clomid. He wished me luck, but informed me that it wasn’t likely to work. To our surprise it worked on the first round for me (50mg). I had my daughter in Jan 2019, and she was perfect. I developed cholestasis during my pregnancy not due to clomid.
Flash forward to September 2019 we decided to start trying again. I had a feeling it was going to take awhile again. After 6 months I was beginning to feel pretty broken. I was ovulating and eating right, taking prenatals, and fertility tea. No luck. In April I called up my doctor who prescribed me clomid again. (50mg). I waited a month to take it because I was scared of another negative test.
I took a test this Tuesday and positive.
This is the SECOND time clomid has worked for me on the first try. We feel extremely lucky and blessed that we found something that finally works for us. However I’m so confused.
What I’m trying to get at is, does anyone know what may be happening? Why do I get positive opk’s but can’t conceive without clomid?
