Owlet sock or something else?

Question

Anybody have experience using Owlet or another device to monitor your baby? Has it been useful? Would you suggest it to other moms? I thought it looked good but I don’t know anyone who has had one or anything similar even. I have a gift card that would cover $150 of it so I’m thinking that’d be a good use. I’m 28 weeks pregnant and getting really anxious to make sure I have stuff for my baby and ways to keep her them safe. Let me know mamas!

It saved our friends daughter, so we will be getting one for our baby. To us the peace of mind is worth it, even if there is some false alarms. And they just redesigned it so there are less issues apparently.

I loved my owlet and used it with my last two babies. Never had issues or false alarms and it actually detected that my daughter had rsv before it got bad. Doctor said getting her in so fast for treatment is what kept her out of the hospital. I plan on buying another one with this baby. Some people complain about false alarm which is usually just a disconnect alarm and not an actual emergency alarm but I think it’s usually bc they aren’t using the correct sock size, it’s not on properly, or the base station is further away than recommended.

Wish my experience was like the others! They sent me two base units within a few months because they would stop working, constant false alarms even though the sock was on right, base unit was in right position, etc. Then it kept disconnecting from WiFi even when WiFi was perfectly fine. It caused me much more stress than it saved.

My friend used one and it gave false alarms all the time so it added more stress to them and they just stopped using it. If ur baby isn’t premature or doesn’t have health issues then I’d just rely on a regular monitor to check on baby.

I’m a ftm and I use the sock just when at night when I know I’ll be sleeping and it eases a lot of worries! I haven’t had any issues yet and it’s really nice to know how your baby is sleeping and breathing!
